White House confirms outgoing President Biden will not pardon his son, Hunter

Hunter Biden is expected to be sentenced next month for both his gun purchasing charges and tax fraud charges.

As his father's last weeks in the Oval Office play out, the looming question of who President Joe Biden will pardon came up during Thursday's White House press briefing.

A reporter asked if Biden had any intention of pardoning his son, Hunter.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded, "Our answer stands, which is no."

She then told reporters that the president also would not consider a sentence commutation for the current First Son.

Hunter Biden was found guilty on over the summer, and he is expected to be sentenced on December 12 inDelaware for the federal gun case.

In a separate case, the president's son is set to be sentenced on December 16 in California after pleading guilty to and avoiding a trial. He's facing a maximum sentence up to 17 years in prison.

Hunter Biden is the first child of a sitting U.S. president to be convicted of a crime.
