2 dead, 1 hurt after shooting in Aurora park
DENVER (KDVR) — Two people died and one person was seriously injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Utah Park in Aurora, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The park is located in the 1800 block of South Peoria Street.
According to APD, officers responded to a local hospital around 2:15 a.m. after a report of a walk-in gunshot wound.
Police talked to the victim, who sustained serious injuries. It was determined the shooting occurred at Utah Park around 1:55 a.m.
Officers responded to the park and located two additional victims. Both victims were deceased.
The ages and identities of the victims have not been confirmed, police said.
There was a large police presence at Utah Park. APD said the scene would remain active for several hours.
Police said investigators believe this is an isolated incident among people who were known to each other and that there is no danger to the public.
Detectives are asking anyone who lives in the area to check their doorbell cameras or other security cameras around 1:55 a.m.
