Areas of dense fog possible Sunday night
Areas of fog have begun developing in the Stateline Sunday night as moisture remained in place while clouds cleared out following the afternoon showers for some. Late into the evening, visibility has been reported as low as under a mile for many as of 11PM. This includes near zero visibility in Freeport and Janesville! You can find current SkyTrack cameras across the Stateline on the main "Weather tab" of our website.
With expanding fog in the near term, NWS issued a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, and DeKalb counties until 7AM Monday morning. Expect visibility down near 1/4 mile within the advisory!
Areas of fog–dense at times–may continue into Monday morning, with visibility below a couple miles likely for most through the night. When driving in fog, be sure to use extra caution and refrain from using the high-beam headlights!
