Cooler temperatures expected this week
The chance for rain should hold off this week, and temperatures should not be quite as hot.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 60 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies kicking off the day.
Mostly cloudy skies will gradually clear today, with a high near 71. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 44.
Patchy fog will be possible before 9 a.m. on Monday — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected, with a high near 70. Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Monday night, with a low around 49.
Partly sunny skies are expected on Tuesday, with a high near 72. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 50.
