The Greensburg-Jeannette Women in the NAACP (WIN) fall fashion show and luncheon will be held Oct. 5 at Live Casino Pittsburgh at Westmoreland Mall, the second year the annual event has welcomed guests at the Hempfield venue.

About 100 people turned out for last year's event. Co-chairperson Ruth R. Tolbert is looking to increase the attendance this year.

"It's just really a fun day," she said.

"Bold & Beautiful" is the theme for the event, set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the casino's banquet room.

Attendees will be able to browse vendor booths for fashion accessories and other items. After luncheon is served, DJ Danny Cooper will accompany local community leaders as they model women's fashions from Macy's in the mall and men's attire from Lapels in downtown Greensburg.

"If people see something they like, they can run over to the store and purchase it," Tolbert said.

Other features of the event include auction baskets, door prizes and an optional "WIN What" drawing. Tolbert explained attendees can place a cash amount of their choice in an envelope. If their envelope is picked, they win 10 times the amount it contains.

The cost to attend is $60. To register, contact Tolbert at 724-691-2925.

For 18 years, the fashion event has been a fundraising fixture for Greensburg-Jeannette WIN. The group is particularly dedicated to supporting women and children, especially those in need, and encouraging women's leadership throughout the area.
