NewsNation affiliate WBTW obtained video of a portion of the confrontation, which shows John Paul Miller standing in front of a woman. In the video, John Paul Miller makes a motion that angers the woman. She claimed Miller put his hands on her.
The woman's friend who witnessed, Melissa Pfeiffer, the encounter told NewsNation that John Paul Miller tapped the brim of the woman's hat with his phone twice before he walked away.
"He charged at her," Pfeiffer told NewsNation's Rich McHugh. "He hit the brim of her hat, twice."
The woman, along with other protesters, was taunting John Paul Miller as he cleaned out the contents of his former church.
John Paul Miller's exchange with the woman comes a day after the 803 Howard Avenue church was emptied of its contents — a distinctive sign stripped of white " Solid Rock" lettering. His vehicle was on site for some time.
The incident remains under police investigation.

FBI searches John Paul Miller's Myrtle Beach home
The activity at John Paul Miller's 803 Howard Avenue church came four days after an FBI operation at his Coldwater Circle home in Myrtle Beach ended with multiple boxes of evidence being seized.
It remains unclear why the FBI was at John Paul Miller's home for several hours on Friday. Investigators removed several items, including what appeared to be some computer equipment. A spokesperson told News13 on Friday that the agency does not comment on potential indictments.
John Paul Miller did not appear to be home when the warrant was served.

Mica Miller's death
Mica Miller, 30, was found dead of a gunshot injury in Lumber River National Park in North Carolina on April 27, 2024. Her death was officially ruled a suicide, but her friends and family have suggested otherwise and pointed to what they say is a history of abuse by John Paul Miller against his wife.
After her death was ruled a suicide, other theories spread online based on information about the couple's marriage, including a 911 call days before her death where Mica Miller said she was scared for her life after finding a GPS tracker on her car.
The couple was estranged while Mica Miller was seeking a divorce from her husband, and her family has said, based on her statements and journals, that she was a victim of abuse and coercive control by her husband.
John-Paul Miller had served as a pastor at Solid Rock Church but was released after his wife's death. He has denied all reports of abuse and said he was trying to get help for his estranged wife, who he said was mentally ill.
