Northport Police Blotter: Officers Help Lost Boy Find Father ALSO: Northport police helped Suffolk police take a man who had an outstanding warrant into custody, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Sept. 16 through Sept. 22.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked in a no stopping anytime zone on Laurel Avenue on Sept. 16.
  • A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked in a no stopping anytime zone on Laurel Avenue on Sept. 17.
  • A patrolling officer saw a vehicle with an excessive loud exhaust drive on Main Street and pull into Municipal Lot #1 around 2:45 a.m. Sept. 20. The officer stopped the car and determined that the registration on the vehicle did not match the vehicle description. The officer interviewed the driver, who said he just bought the car recently, but could not provide any documentation in regards to the vehicle or registration. The driver also did not have a valid driver's license. Through a license check, the officer determined that the driver had an outstanding warrant with the Suffolk County Police Department. Suffolk officers brought the driver to the 2nd Precinct for the outstanding warrant.
  • A man fainted in Municipal Lot #1 on Sept. 21. Northport firefighters responded, but the man declined transport.
  • A woman collapsed while running on Main Street on Sept. 21. She declined medical attention.
  • A woman became overexerted while running in Municipal Lot #1 on Sept. 21. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
  • Police were called to Soper Avenue for a report of people screaming on Sept. 21. A woman said she was walking her dog when her dog ate a chipmunk and started choking. They were able to get the chipmunk out of the dog's mouth, and no further action was required.
  • A man was sleeping on the sidewalk of Main Street around 12:05 a.m. Sept. 22. The man refused to identify himself to police and left the area.
  • A child approached police officers on Main Street on Sept. 22 and told them he lost his parents. The father was contacted by phone and reunited with his son.
