Plains Pitcher Tosses A 3-hitter

WILKES-BARRE – Winning pitcher Jordan Flaherty allowed only three hits
while striking out three to lead Plains to a 14-4 victory over North
Wilkes-Barre on Sunday in District 16 Junior League action.

Flaherty helped his cause at the plate with three hits, including a double,
and drove in six runs.
Tom Lisosky added four hits, and Alex Grilli, J.J. Carr and Brian Sharkey
each had two hits for Plains.

Rich Lopez was hit with the loss for North Wilkes-Barre and Eric Drevitch
had a double.


Avoca/Dupont 15, Northwest 4 (5)

SHICKSHINNY – Joe Dorbad tossed a five-hitter, striking out six for
Avoca/Dupont. Dorbad and Andrew Jackowitz had three hits each, while Chris
Kivak, John Waleski and Mike Hannon chipped in with two hits each.


Ed/Lark 9, West Pittston 6

WILKES-BARRE – Matt Bustin had three hits and two RBI and Kevin Schultz
added two hits and two RBI to lead Ed-Lark.

Matt Clarke chipped in two hits and knocked in a run for the winners.

For West Pittston, John Colwell had four hits, including a pair of doubles,
and Anthony Bellino singled twice.


orty Fort 9, Back Mountain American 7

FORTY FORT – Tommy Alexander knocked in four runs for Forty Fort and Zach
Holena was the winning pitcher in a game played Saturday.


D16 SENIOR SOFTBALL


Harveys Lake 13, Wyoming/West Wyoming 5

HARVEYS LAKE – Ramah Williams and Megan Devine each smacked bases-loaded
triples to power Harveys Lake to the title.

Devine was the winning pitcher, striking out six in seven innings. Also
contributing at the plate for Harveys Lake were Marteen Besteder (4-for-5) and
Lauren Litchman (3-5).

For Wyoming/West Wyoming, Lindsay Ross went 3-for-3.
