Rain showers could linger into the latter part of the week
Showers could dampen the Wyoming Valley into Wednesday night, but it does not look to be a complete wash out.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 67 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with partly cloudy skies kicking off the day.
Clouds will move into the region today, with a slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. and then after 2 p.m. Today’s high will be near 80 degrees.
Showers will become likely after 1 a.m. tonight, with up to a quarter of an inch of rain possible. Cloudy skies will stick around, and tonight’s low will be around 56 degrees.
Mostly cloudy skies will linger into Wednesday, with a 40 percent chance of rain showers before 5 p.m. Up to another quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and Wednesday’s high will be near 65 degrees.
Partly cloudy skies will make for a quiet Wednesday night, with a low around 48 degrees.
Sunny skies will return on Thursday, with a high near 79 degrees. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, with a low around 53 degrees.
