SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Springdale man was arrested Oct. 16 after he allegedly took pictures of a woman in a thrift store changing room, according to court documents.

Juan Diaz-Zavinon, 51, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on a video voyeurism charge.

A preliminary report from Springdale police said on Oct. 10, Diaz-Zavinon used his cell phone to take a photo of a woman while she was in a changing room at The Compassion Center of NWA.

The victim told police she was fully unclothed in the changing room when she noticed a cell phone being held under the door taking photos of her.

She then hit the door and Diaz-Zavinon removed the phone and walked to hide behind a bookshelf, the report said.

Officers recovered security footage from the store and Diaz-Zavinon was seen putting his phone under the door of the changing room with the camera on selfie mode, according to the report. After the woman hit the door, he walked around and allegedly tried to get another angle to take more photos.

The report said Diaz-Zavinon then got into his vehicle and left the store.

Officers returned to the store the following day after the staff wanted him banned. SPD spoke with Diaz-Zavinon before banning him from the store.

On Wednesday, officers went to his residence and arrested him.

Diaz-Zavinon is being held on a $50,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on November 22.
