DUDASCIK – Stephen J., 72, of Dallas, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was born in Kingston on June 7, 1940.

Surviving are daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Mary Kathryn; son, Stephen R.; sisters, Ellen Chopyak and Mary Ann Kasarda; a niece and nephews.

JOLLEY – Elsie B., 91, formerly of Courtdale and Dallas, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at The Wesley Village in Jenkins Township.

She was born in Larksville on Aug. 27, 1921, raised in Noxen and graduated from Noxen High School in 1939. She was employed at the hospital in Johnson City, N.Y.; Nesbitt Hospital and Fowler, Dick & Walker, The Boston Store in Wilkes-Barre.

She was a longtime member and Past Worthy Matron of Dallas Chapter 396, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Courtdale United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Irem Auxiliary. She was an active community volunteer for several organizations, including the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House of Danille, The Meadows and Campus Ministries of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Surviving are her children, Caroljane, Marion Reilly, Carl, Robert and David; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MAJOR – Harold Lawrence, 67, of Dallas, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at home.

He was born in Kingston on Dec. 27, 1945, and was a member of the Lake-Lehman High School graduating class of 1964. He was owner and operator of Harold’s Garage for many years.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Maureen Johnson; daughter, Tracey, Chase; three grandchildren; a great-grandson.

OHL – Thomas J. Jr., R.N. BSN, 61, of Dallas, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born in Pittston, grew up in West Pittston, was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, class of 1969, and a 1977 graduate of Wilkes College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

He was employed at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital as an emergency room nurse and then spent 21 years as a nursing supervisor at the State Correctional Institute, Dallas, until his retirement in 2005. He was currently employed by Geisinger Home Health and Hospice.

He was a member of the Kunkle Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are his wife, Julianne Stuart; daughters, Jessica Evans, Plymouth; Meredith A. Recek, Nanticoke; step-daughters, Rebekah, Jessica and Shayla Stuart, at home; a sister, Helen Roderick, Sullivan’s Island, S.C.; two nephews and a niece.

PATTON – Patrice Dougherty, 83, of Dallas, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.

She was born in Pittston and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Prior to her marriage, she was a customer service representative for the Bell Telephone Co. in Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Dallas.

Surviving are sons, Robert, San Diego, Calif.; John, Kennesaw, Ga.; Jerry, Swoyersville; Joseph, at home; daughters, Carol LaRose, Centreville, Va.; Mary Ellen Schall, Kingston; nine grandchildren; sister, Sr. Mary Clare Dougherty, R.S.M., Dallas; brother, Charles Dougherty, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a niece, several nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

SAMSON – Barbara F., 77, of Dallas, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born in Dallas and was a graduate of Westmoreland High School, class of 1953. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Dallas and the Dorcas Society.

Surviving are her children, Tammy Hagey, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Jeffrey, Stow, Ohio; Gregory and Rodney, both of Luzerne; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Franklin, Dallas; nieces and nephews.

SHAVER – Crystal J., 80, of Edwardsville and formerly of Bunker Hill, Kingston Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.

She was born in Kingston Township and attended the Scranton School for the Deaf.

Surviving are her six children, Walter, Aston; Danny, Dallas; Dorothy Brown, Edwardsville; Barry, Noxen; Betty Sims, Hanover Township; Gail, Hanover Township; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Novella Huey, Shavertown; Linda Clement, Wyoming; Kay Miller, Wyoming; five brothers, Keith Harvey, Tunkhannock; Roy Harvey, Wyoming; Robert Harvey, Harveys Lake; Glen Harvey, Dallas, Richard Harvey, Wyoming; nieces and nephews.

STRUCKUS – Thomas James, 64, of Orange, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, class of 1967. He was a combat veteran serving with the 1st Marine Division in Vietnam.

He was a member of the Laborers Union Heavy and Highway Local 158. Over the course of his career, he worked for various companies, among them B.G. Coon Construction with whom he spent 25 years.

He was a member of the Buckstoppers Gun Club and St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Mary Smith, Orange; son, T.J., King of Prussia; daughter, Jennifer Howe, Warminster; five grandchildren; sisters, Maryann Groblewski, Shavertown; Rita Mozdian, Laurel Run; brothers, John, Forty Fort; Richard, Florida; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

WATCHULONIS – Ann Marie Bilbow, 75, a longtime resident of Shavertown, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Laurelwood Care Center in Maryland on what would have been her 53rd wedding anniversary.

She was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Kingston.

Surviving are her children, Lynn Antonitis, Elkton, Md.; Bill, Dallas; Joann Pipan, Kingston; Tracee Kremski, Wapwallopen; 10 grandchildren.
