Trial delayed for Chicago man accused of setting Kenosha County woman on fire

The trial of the Chicago man accused of trying to kill his girlfriend by allegedly setting her on fire inside a Salem Lakes residence before fleeing the state has been delayed.

The jury selection in the trial of Myron Bowie, 37, was scheduled for Monday morning but his defense attorneys requested adjournment for additional discovery, according to court records. The trial is for an incident July 30, 2023.

Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Gerad Dougvillo rescheduled the trial to Jan. 6, 2025. A status conference is scheduled for Oct. 31.

Bowie, who has pleaded not guilty, is charged in Kenosha County with attempted first-degree intentional homicide as a domestic abuser, a Class A felony.

He remains held on a $500,000 cash bond.
