RED RIVER PARISH, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Shreveport woman on Monday night has been arrested by Louisiana State Police.
According to Trooper Eddie Thomas, 43-year-old William J. Williams of Coushatta was taken into custody on Tuesday for his alleged role in the death of 52-year-old Natalya Leggio of Shreveport.
Thomas says at approximately 8:45 p.m. on November 4, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash on Meeks Road near Jenkins Lease Road in Coushatta.

Leggio was sitting near the edge of Meeks Road when a vehicle struck her, authorities said. That vehicle did not stop at the scene or contact law enforcement.
Thomas says information obtained at the scene pointed to a 2013 GMC SUV being involved and that Williams was allegedly the driver.
Williams remains held at the Red River Parish Detention Center on a charge of felony hit-and-run.
He faces up to ten years in prison if found guilty of the charge.
