Orloski Fires Perfect Game As Hoban Shuts Out Gar

WILKES-BARRE—Kim Orloski struck out 18 and pitched a perfect game to lead Bishop Hoban to a 5-0 victory over GAR in Wyoming Valley Conference girls softball action on Monday.
Rachel Keefe paced the Argents’ offense with a double.
Wyoming Valley West 2, Hazleton Area 1
Natalie Mitchell hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and give the Spartans the win. Sarah Gurgle homered in the third and Jess Ras struck out seven for a complete-game victory.
Heather Dale fanned 12 for the Cougars in the loss.
Wyoming Area 7, Crestwood 3
The Warriors rallied to score seven in the bottom of the fifth. Karissa Kross went the distance for the win while going 2-for-4 with two RBI at the plate.
Sarah Ashford went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair for the Comets.
Berwick 5, Pittston Area 1
Alicia Scott was 4-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Dawgs to victory over the Patriots. Andrea Malatesta, Kim Galutia and Megan Mowery each had a pair of hits for the winners. Winning pitcher Talia Williams hurled a two-hitter and struck out 13.
Danielle McAndrew and Samantha Soy accounted for Pittston Area’s hits.
