The chance for isolated showers will linger on into the early weekend, but skies should clear by Saturday.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 68 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport as of 8:54 a.m. Some light drizzle and mist dampened the morning commute, and cloudy skies made it look like a particularly ominous morning.

Fortunately, no heavy rain or severe weather is predicted in the forecast for the next few days. Mostly cloudy skies will linger overhead today, along with the possibility of some isolated showers. Today’s high will reach about 71 degrees. That chance for isolated showers will carry on up until midnight tonight — after 1 a.m., patchy drizzle is expected. Tonight’s low will drop to about 52 degrees.

Patchy drizzle will greet morning commuters on Thursday between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. — otherwise, mostly cloudy skies are expected. The high will be in the upper 60s. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around into Thursday night, along with a chance of showers after 1 a.m. The low will drop to about 50 degrees.

That chance of showers will carry on into Friday after 2 p.m., but sunny skies are expected to return. The high will be near 71 degrees. That chance of rain will remain into Friday night before 8 p.m., with a low in the lower 50s.
