Rain today, more sunshine expected tomorrow

Sunny skies this morning will eventually give way to rain and possibly some thunderstorms later this afternoon.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 71 degrees at 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible today before noon — showers will be likely after noon, along with the potential for thunderstorms after noon. Precipitation will once again become scattered after 4 p.m. Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is expected today, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Today’s high will reach the lower 80s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be likely before 11 p.m. tonight, followed by a slight chance of showers overnight. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, but more could fall in thunderstorms. Tonight’s low will drop to the mid to upper 50s.
Sunshine will return to the Wyoming Valley on Wednesday, with a high in the upper 70s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Wednesday night, with showers likely after 2 a.m. Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. Wednesday night’s low drill be in the upper 50s.
