WILKES-BARRE — The rain has exited the Wyoming Valley, but it could return sometime this weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 53 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. It was a mostly sunny morning for the morning commute, and roadways have all but dried after the soaking rain from the last few days.

Isolated showers are possible before 2 p.m. today — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are predicted. Today’s high will be in the mid to lower 70s.

Isolated showers will also be possible before 10 p.m. tonight with mostly cloudy skies predicted. Tonight’s low will dip into the lower 50s.

It’s looking like a quiet Friday for the Wyoming Valley, with partly sunny skies expected during the day and partly cloudy skies at night. Friday’s high will be in the lower 70s, while Friday night’s low will be in the lower 50s.

Sunny skies will stick around for Saturday, with a high in the upper 70s. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is predicted for Saturday night with mostly cloudy skies. Saturday night’s high will be in the upper 50s.
