FORECAST: Trade Umbrellas for Shovels across parts of NE Ohio to Start Week

CLEVELAND — As temperatures fall this evening, the rain will begin to change to a rain/snow mix, then to more snow after midnight into the morning on Monday. Winds will pick up during the overnight, as a cold front moves through the region. Gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be possible by Monday morning.

Lake effect snow will set up Monday into Tuesday, with accumulation likely in the primary snow belt. A is in effect for Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula Counties through 7 AM Wednesday. Cuyahoga County is under a until 7 AM on Wednesday. These areas will be most concerned for higher snow totals, especially in the Lake Effect Snow Warning. Elsewhere, snowfall amounts will be minor. The most significant lake effect snowfall will be Monday night into Tuesday, with the snow then tapering off Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. Expect Winter-like highs early next week in the 30s. Brr.

We will see an uptick in temps for the middle and end of the work week, as highs return to the mid to upper 40s. Rain chances will move in again by Friday, with possible showers more likely again on Sunday.
