Get ready for snow to return: Northeast Ohio’s Monday weather forecast

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Snow is back in the forecast for Cyber Monday, but how much you will see depends on where you are.

The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for highs to only reach about 30 on Monday with breezy conditions and wind gusts over 20 mph expected. Much of the area will only see a slight chance of snow showers during the day with greater snow chances later in the evening. Snow belt areas will see a greater likelihood for heavier snows both during the day and in the later hours. Overnight lows will drop to around 21 degrees. Tuesday will again see highs near 30 with additional snow accumulation.

Hazardous weather outlook

A Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect for Lake and Ashtabula Counties from 7 a.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Wednesday and for Geauga County from 7 p.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Wednesday with chances for patchy and blowing snow as long as heavy accumulations where lake effect bands set up. Some areas could see more than 10 inches of snow by the end of the day Wednesday.

Cuyahoga County has a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 p.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Wednesday. Snow moving into the area Monday night could cause issues for the Tuesday morning commute. 4-6 inches of total snow accumulation could fall by Wednesday morning.

Extended forecast for Northeast Ohio

Skies will remain cloudy Tuesday night with lows dropping to around 20 degrees as winds calm. Wednesday will see sunshine return with highs in the upper 30s.
