The National Weather Service indicated that it was 45 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. It was a sunny morning to kick off the week despite the cooler-than-normal temperatures.
Mostly sunny skies will dominate the skies today, but there will be some isolated showers in the area after 3 p.m. Today’s high will reach about 69 degrees. Partly cloudy skies will linger overhead into tonight, with the low dropping back down to the mid 40s.
Sunny skies and warm temperatures will return on Tuesday, with the high climbing to the mid 70s. Cloudy skies, however, will return once again on Tuesday night. The chance for scattered showers will also return after 1 a.m. Tuesday night’s low will drop to the mid 50s.
Showers are likely on Wednesday, along with the possibility of a thunderstorm. The forecast does not indicate any predictions for rainfall amounts. Wednesday’s high will be in the lower 70s. That rain will carry on into Wednesday night, with a low in the mid 40s.
