Mary E. Mihalko, 78, of Oplinger Towers, Nanticoke, and formerly of the
Korn Krest section of Hanover Township, died Saturday at her home.
Born June 25, 1923, in Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late
William and Mary Mazureski Baranski. She attended Hanover Township schools.
Before retiring, she was employed by General Cigar Co., Nanticoke. She was
a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Church, South Washington
Street, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Joseph and
John; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are her daughters, Rose Marie Hutchins, Kingston; Bernadette
Roote, Nanticoke; Jo Ann, at home; Patsy Makarczyk, Breslau, Hanover Township;
brothers, Frank, White Haven; Stanley, Hanover Township; sister, Anne Bawiec,
Edgewood, Md.; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Charles V. Sherbin
Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green section of Hanover Township, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s of the Immaculate
Conception Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
