Mary Skiptunas, 92, of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday morning at Valley Crest
Nursing Home, Plains Township.
She was born in Glen Lyon, Newport Township, March 19, 1912, a daughter of
the late Joseph and Anna Cimbal. Mrs. Skiptunas was a member of Holy Trinity
Church, East South Street, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ambrose Skiptunas in 2002; she was
also preceded in death by a sister, Amelia Comit; and by her brothers, Anthony
and Leonard Cimbal.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia Iorio, Tampa, Fla.; Janet Flora,
Edwardsville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Anne
Purcell, Naples, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family,
with a Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Church, the Rev. Theodore L. Obaza,
pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hanover
Township.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made to the Valley Crest
Residents Activity Fund, 1551 East End Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711.
Funeral arrangements are by the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and
South Street, Wilkes-Barre.
