ertha Michalec, 79, of the Port Griffith section of Jenkins Township, died
Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1922, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late
Adolph and Bertha (Zelazo) Jeziorski. She was a Wilkes-Barre schools graduate.
She was a dressmaker for Pittston Fashions, Pittston, until retiring. She was
a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union and St. John the Baptist Roman
Catholic Church, Pittston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, Sr. “Timmy”; son,
Thomas, Jr.; and brother, Joseph.
Surviving are her son, Al, Duryea; daughters, Betty O’Haire, Coxton; and
Gina Twardowski, Port Griffith; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Adonizio Funeral Home,
St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, William Street, Pittston. The Rev.
Andrew F. Strish, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. John the
Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial
